SCABS History 1992
There were two significant changes to SCABS in 1992. Mike Weinpress once again moved his
storied franchise. The Doinx relocated to Florida and were renamed after one of the MLB
expansion clubs, the Marlins. Exhibiting a Spinx-like defiance to analysis, Mike made the move
for same mysterious reason he has done anything in his life.

The other change concerned the Particle Reducers. With Dave Maxim's retirement, the
franchise was taken over by owners Jim Bray and Art Henderson. The team was then
rechristened "The Pinstripes". Mr. Bray was immediately unhappy with Mr. Henderson as the
former expected the latter to submit the scoresheet after week one. This little tiff seemed to set
the tone for a tumultuous season in the Pop Division.

For some reason we decided to have a written set of SCAB rules. They are printed below for
those interested in such niceties.

Here were the standings at roughly midway through the season. Roger Taber continued his
mastery of the trade.

The final standings are found below. As you can see the Sunsetters, Penguins, Yanks and
Boars made the playoffs.

We had another all-star game and the Soda Division again beat the Pop Division
– this time 148-134.

And now for the Championship Series:
All hail the Borneo Wild Boars – 1992 Champions.
