SCABS History 1993
The season began with Dave Lincoln taking over the Marlin franchise for departing Mike Weinpress.
Mike was one of the founding members of the league and one of the bright lights of SCABdom. He was
past champion and commissioner of our organization. He always proclaimed that he "had quit more
important things than SCABS" and often threatened to resign, but few of us ever took this to be more
than championship caliber whining. But alas, he made good his promise and actually transferred to
another part of Kodak altogether. Apparently, he couldn't get far enough away from us! We welcomed
Dave "Hot Rod" Lincoln into the fold – kind of like one welcomes a neophyte poker player into a high
stakes game.

Bill Rookey continued as the owner of the Bedrock Rubble, and volunteered to become SCABS second
commissioner. Bill promised to be both honorable and fair – these traits are not what we are used to in
this league, but hey, it may work!

A lot of familiar faces were present in the 1993 playoffs as the Yanks faced off against the Rubble and the Penguins
went toe-to-toe yet again with the Sunsetters.

For all the marbles it's the Vintage Yanks against the Polar Penguins!
